packing and packing and packing

Things are coming along here. Our sweet dog Bella is recovering well from her surgery yesterday. We feel so badly for her but we had to do it - we dont need any puppies around here!!!

Packing is going really well. We think so anyways. I hope we arent being naive!

Im so anxious to nest in the new house. If I think about the homebirth I get anxious and scared because I cant picture it and thats something I use a lot to help me prepare. Im a planner so I like to imagine it over and over - starting in different ways, different times of day, etc. Now all I want is to do is get into the kitchen (where we will set up the birth tub) and get some PAINT over that maroon color LOL. Im practically dreaming about priming and painting (with heathly "green" enviromentally-friendly paint of course! Home Depot carries a line now!!!)

We are off to another busy day - errands and visiting my cousin and then ..... more packing! :) No complaining here, I love the organizing and sorting. Have a great day!

Just for Fun :)

13 day countdown.......

I wasnt feeling well last night and passed out early which was a very good thing because Ive been so tired. The only problem is I woke up at 4:45 this morning (of course - to use the the bathroom. im almost 33wks pregnant!) and now Im wide awake. I have to be really careful not let my mind think of anything when I get up or it will fly into high gear about all I need to do and thats the end of sleep :(

still havent found our taxes (its really weird) but I called the IRS yesterday and the lady was SO sweet. (who would have thought?) It turns out my 30 day notice is really more like a 120 day deadline and she even said if I want to send in a letter explaining the move and the baby that would be fine - they'd understand. It was definitely not the response I expected - it was such a HUGE weight off. Thank you Lord!!!!

Steve is off today to take our sweet dog Bella to be sterilized. We were supposed to do it by March 1st - oops! We adopted her from the shelter last November. She is a kooky thing but we love her. I am very thankful for what a good guard dog she is although she also thinks she is a lap dog but she is massive and hairy (golden retriever mix). She isnt leash trained at all so today should be interested with the crate....have fun Steve! :)

not much else new to report. we just continue to pack and plan. Im so glad that I know that the Lord has this all under control .... this is a really hard time but there is such JOY present with Steve and I. We know this is His will and we know He is good and we are so thankful to be walking with HIm!!!!!

funny caleb moment

So i was on the phone with a dear friend i hadnt talked to in a long time. Caleb and Noah were bickering over a magnet, shaped like an antelope (apparently its the coolest magnet in the world today....or it was). I ushered Caleb to the potty and told Noah Id get it back for him in a minute.

LOL.......Caleb comes and gets me and told me there was an accident........the "cantelope" fell in the potty LOL LOL LOL (we just cant set him straight on that one!). I rescued it with a plastic-bag-covered hand (caleb had already done his business) and told them I was throwing it in the trash. So Noah starts yelling and going off on Caleb and Caleb laid down on the floor and wailed "I want my cantelope! cantelope!!! cantelope!!!" LOL LOL LOL . *sigh* these boys crack me up!!!!! just a funny from our house this morning......

(whats NOT funny is I cant find my taxes I need for the audit!!!!!! please pray i find them soon)

More pictures!

Trees, trees, trees!

Backyard 1

2nd Backyard tree
Front yard tree 1

2nd Front Yard TreeMolding and woodwork in the kitchen area (color has to go!!!)
Double pantry in kitchen. The floor is stained concrete. We will likely try to stain it to match the rest of the house (we are pulling out the carpet before moving in) or lay something like tile over it.
In Caleb and Jaynas room - stairs leading up to the "secret place" (finished attic space)

The awesome attic space! The boys LOVE it :) it even has a little window and is vented so its not hot.

Master bath. Tiny, tiny and lots of updating to do! There is a shower to the right.

View from the family room:

Kitchen again - ugh, that color! :) We will be replacing the stove and dishwasher and getting a new refrigerator (ours is too small)

Built-ins in nook area.

Hall/main bathroom. Lots of tile :) but its in great shape.
Cabinets in the bathroom.
The tub. We hope to reglaze this and update the fixtures. And diff. flooring eventually.
View from Caleb and Jayas room of the storage shed. Neat little shelf above window :)

I hope that gives everyone a better picture of the house. I wanted to have these for our "before" so we can share the "afters" ........ cant wait! :) Its an old house but its very "charming" and very, very clean. We are so thankful and are excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tired....

Im tired today......I think its the mental exercise Im getting even more than the physical strength its requiring to pack. We have so many files and papers and things to sign and Im constantly scanning and emailing and trying to remember everything :) phew! Thats hard work for this pregnant brain of mine! I think we are nearing the end of it.

The inspection at the home we are buying went pretty well for a 50yr old home. There are a lot of minor repairs (outlet covers missing, doors dont close right, etc) that Steve will do himself (go steve!) and a few major repairs (power lines sagging in backyard, AC needs serviced, leak under the sink, etc) we are asking for. Once that matter gets settled we will be over the major paperwork - hopefully :)

we took a break from packing last night. I needed a break. Tonight we will be going through all of our papers/files, etc. ....... to only take what we need AND because.....get this..... we are getting audited!!!! They want proof of medical/dental expenses and charitable donations for 2006. We have 30 days to get it to them - perfect timing eh? We just have to laugh about it......and pray we can find all the reciepts they want!!!!! eek! Thats the year we had Jayna, Steve has lasik (thanks mom and dad!), etc. so it was an unusual year for us and I guess thats why we got flagged.

So Im a little behind but I continue to pack boxes here and there - kitchen appliances, linens, etc. What I really need to do is catch up on laundry and dishes!!! :)

just a rambling update. The kids are fine. They dont mind the extra TV they get to watch when I have to do work on the computer :) They has a blast "helping" the inspector yesterday at the house and running all over being crazy. They love the backyard there - I cant wait to get it all set up for them :)

i took a ton of picts of the house yesterday....will post soon.

A Crazy Week

Wow. Packing is so much working. I knew that its just REALLY a lot of work :)

We have gone through all of our christmas stuff (15 boxes) and I believe pared it down to 2 large and 2 small boxes? Yesterday I tackled all the little boy clothes in the house, from newborn to 5T. We had WAY too much.....seriously, an insane amount. We gave away tons and tons and tons of bags and it felt great! Now all their clothes are organized in bins by size - a beautiful thing. Then today we tackled TOYS. Ill have to post the picts I took of the disgusting mountain of junk that we collected from all over the house and put on our family room floor. We spent hours and hours sorting and throwing away.....again, bags and bags and bags. It feels awesome!!!! :) We still have lots of fun things for them to play with but without all the junk and broken toys and millions of random pieces that breed in closets :)

We have two more huge projects left: Jaynas clothes and the garage. JJs clothes actually shouldnt be that bad, Ive gone through them several times. But the garage.....especially hard in the 100 degree heat (blech!)

So we are exhausted and sore but feeling good. The home inspection on our "new" house is tomorrow and Im excited for that. Hopefully all goes well. We are getting the AC serviced on this new house as part of our contract and the kids even have dentist appointments on Wed - it will be a very productive week! :)

I saw my midwife today. Im just about 32 weeks and all is fine! :) I have my birth pool now (we are having a homebirth) but I just have to keep focused on moving before I can even think of having a baby :) Thankfully he is very large and very active so he is always reminding me that he is there :)

just a rambling update on our life.....crazy but good. God is good. We are excited to follow Him!

We are Moving!!!

Last friday - after exactly 6 weeks of our house being on the market - we got an offer! We reached an agreement just a few days later. As of yesterday their option period is officially up (cant back out) so its SOLD! yay! :) In this market, selling in 6 weeks is nothing short of a miracle so: Thank You Lord!!!!!

We are moving all the way to ....... south Ft Worth LOL! We will be closer to Steves job (10 miles instead of 1.5hrs on the freeway in rush-hour traffic), our new church and many of our friends. We are so excited. Its a good, good thing.

This house is much smaller than our current house (nearly 800sq ft) so we are challenged to simplify our life and our belongings - something that we know is good, but still a challenge. Its a one-story and I am SO thrilled about that. I can hardly wait to not have to haul my very pregnant self up these steep stairs anymore!!! :)

The house is in great shape but we will have a lot of fun updating projects to do - new doors, paint, new flooring, etc.

And all just 5 weeks before Mr. Abram is due to arrive :) No sweat right?

The Lord is kind to keep me reliant on Him and His grace! He is good!

A new family member....

Its 3:30am TX time. As I type my sister is in labor - Im going to be an auntie!!!!!! She is doing so awesome~

update: it had been about 28hrs since Sarah's first real contraction Thurs night and 8hrs of hard labor when I first posted. She was just too exhausted and decided to get the epidural. So thankfully, now she is resting. She did an awesome job preparing for a natural childbirth and handling the contrax that she did but we all know that things dont always go as planned! Its 8am here now and she is still at 5cm. They just broke her water........just waiting for the call that its time to push!!!! :) I cant wait to be an aunt!

my poor sister was in labor a LONG time (36hrs, the last 15 of it being hard) but she is so thrilled to finally have her little one out! She only pushed 21 mins!!! And so a new journey begins...... Thank You Lord!!!!!
