and here is my cutie, hanging out in the bumbo. i have to shove his healthy "little" legs in but he's getting more used to it. Ive been putting him on the island in it so I can cook or do the dishes and its been working - thankfully! (like the artwork on the table **eye roll** that was prob Jayna or Caleb!) Some sweet and generous friends are passing on their table to us in a month or so and this will be our dedicated craft table!

If anyone knows of someone about to have a baby that would like birth or newborn pictures pretty PLEASE pass along me name, email, phone, website, etc. I love taking pictures of all ages of course (children, families, seniors) so that would be awesome as well. I am charging now but its very low while I gain more experience :) Im still not feeling like Im supposed to get really into having a business but I enjoy photography so much, I love blessing other people with pictures, and the extra money is always a blessing. thanks!
My friend Becky also is passing along some fun templates. Here is a valentine one I played with:

we have to sell the boys' Britax Regent because it turns out they are impossible to get a good install with in an '01 Suburban (go figure). I posted on http://www.car-seat.org/ (great site for help) and other people had the same issue.
so of course i researched and researched and ended up with the Graco Nautilus. They are only like $134 on Walmarts site and they'll ship them to your store. Ive always only had Britax for the kids (which are twice the price) and Im impressed with how sturdy and nice the Nautilus is! here are picts of the boys in their new seats.
If anyone in the area needs a carseat im selling my Britax Regents on Craigslist. Good deal, I think ;) HERE and HERE
REMEMBER: carseats expire in 6yrs!!!! they are NOT safe after that, they may fail in an accident! Make sure your seats are safe and current. Make sure your child has not outgrown the seat by weight OR height (more common). Most of us wont get in a serious accident but I know none of us want to say "I wish I would have....." and it be too late :( Car accidents are the leading cause of death in children under 14 and many of those could be prevented with proper seats and installation!
*off my soapbox*
and because every good post has a picture of my bubba......

Steves car died today (its always something) so he was out working on it and trying to figure out what the problem is. So I put Abram out in the bumbo to watch him and enjoy the day. He was so fascinated! I love the colors that came out in the lighting on our porch..... and these blue eyes of his, I just cant get enough!
Here are some quick snapshots from hanging out with them yesterday........
oh! here is the "spider web" that Noah crafted yesterday ALL over the kitchen. yes, this is the wacky stuff I try to be cool and let them do in our "school". The boy can tie a knot like nobody's business. And I got quite the ab workout trying to get across the room (excuse the mess and the TV and the box with the fan that will someday actually be up on the ceiling. we still have a hole in the front room from where the slab leak was fixed so the furniture is in the kitchen still. ghetto fabulous)
Below is the ladybug tent JJ got for christmas from Nana. we thought it was one of those folding ones but its not, so its the main attraction in our family room right now. Anyways Abram loves it. I think he likes the sound his nails make on it. So I set him by it all the time and he grabs it and rolls and talks to it, etc. Hours of fun!
See her face below? She's saying "mooooooove" LOL
She tried to stop him but he just kicked her in the head. Atta boy!
Here she is obeying the "no shining the light in people's eyes" rule oh-so-well
It seemed like I took 50 shots to get a good one of his tootsies.....he's totally into having them in the air and grabbing them. No tries for the mouth yet though!
if you havent, you the only one in th entire world of cyberspace who hasnt. you are missing out!
seriously though she is quickly gaining in fame. her site is awesome - her writing style is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S. She has awesome recipes involving lots of butter, which is always good ;) She also has photography and homeschooling sections. And she gives away really awesome prizes all the time - like $250 gift cards (target and pottery barn, usually 4 at a time), her VERY $$$$ Nikon camera, HP printers, etc. Its pretty crazy.
she wrote out her love story too, look for "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels". Its soooooo funny. even Steve thought some parts were funny (shhhh dont tell) ;)

And they also seem to know when a good nap would absolutely make or break our plans dont they? Amazing little creatures arent they?! (I gave up stressing over naps a long time ago! otherwise Id go more crazy than I already am!)
Here's my second baby going across the whole monkey bars by himself. He was always my best napper and he napped until he was about 4...Jayna and Caleb both gave theirs up at 2! They are all so different - but all a blessing!
and because i cant post without a picture of the little man! He loves him some fingers!

Today we took the boys the optometrist for the first time. All is well.. Caleb has 20/15 vision which the Dr said they dont expect at his age. He put up a line on the screen for Noah too and said something about trying a really hard one and Noah read it like it was no big deal. I could tell the Dr was surprised. Noah does have some convergence issues (I knew about it and brought it up with him) and he gave us some exercises to do. but ANYWAYS while they were doing one of the tests on Caleb, Jayna comes up to me and (loudly) said "PEEEEEE!" That was the first time she TOLD me she had to go. Woohoo! I was super proud, and very thankful, since I forgot to take her when we got there :) She was dry all day and went on her own this evening too. Like I said, girls are show-offs. If you have a boy and reading this stresses you out please know my boys didnt do this until they were 3 :)
side note .... there was the sweetest lady in the waiting area with us. her children are grown now but she had 5 under 5 - so ages 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1! And her reflection? "There's nothing like it". Then they had another child 21 years later!!!! isnt that crazy?! She said they are all friends which was such a blessing to hear. I love it when the Lord crosses our path with people like her, its so encouraging.
ooooh! another side note....We get a lot of comments about having so many children including the sarcastic(and hasnt-been-funny-for-a-very-long-time), "You know what causes that right?" Well someone said that to Steve the other day and work and he paused and looked right at the woman and said, "um, yeah, GOD" heehee ....love that man of mine!
got to visit with my dear, dear friend Leslie today. what a sweet blessing. her daughter is 3 and very out-going and Jayna just followed her around the whole time, adoring her. I love you friend!!!!!
night y'all! going to go lay down in my bedroom which smells like dead-thing-in-the-wall. Hopefully its a mouse and not a squirrel because apparently those take quiet awhile to stop stinking up the entire house!
I am very, very proud that we are going to have our 1st black president. I agree its a huge accomplishment in a nation that once thought it was ok treat African Americans like they were less than human. I know it cant understand on the same level as if I were black, but I do get it. Its a great day in history. (my relatives helped harbor slaves escaping through the Underground Railroad - how cool is that?!)
But I personally cant get past what this particular black person believes and I am weary of the future. In obedience to Scripture I will respect him and obey his laws as so far as they dont conradict Scripture itself, but I fear for where we could be in 8 years. Will we have religious freedom? Will our pastors be able to speak freely from the pulpit? Will I have the freedom to teach my children at home as I do now?
and sadly i ask.....How many more babies will die? Abortion has been debated and talked about and divided our country for so long that I think many are numb to it. Its our dirty secret that no one REALLY wants to talk about. But what about those babies Mr President? what about the late term abortions that dont work? those babies SUFFER and you think it should be legal.
our pastor talked last week about judgment. obviously in the Bible there is right and wrong, but God didnt intend for US to judge the hearts of one another. So Im trying hard not to judge him and what he claims to believe about God. But I dont trust him. Right or wrong, Im unsettled and uncertain.
One thing I know is absolute truth - Jesus is the source of true Hope. no man can really be that except Him. Like the hymn says, "My hope is build on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness". We need laws and government so that we can finish out our time on earth. But this world is a shadow, a breath, a speck of time in the mind of God. REAL hope is that He is coming back for His children and that we will someday be with him, free from the pain and suffering and darkness of this earth.
"Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed." 1 Peter 1:13
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good." Titus 2:11-14
There are churches and Christians all over America singing praises for our new president. They showed churches on the news who charted buses to take people to the inaguration. Im struggling with that idea.....being black is not more important than what he believes.
I praise God for equality but my heart is heavy for the future. I will trust in Him alone and pray.....

the absolutely swarmed the baits all day yesterday. This morning there were only a few ants. And I havent seen one ant since we got home an hour!!! woohoo!!!!!
Im definitely getting more of that bait! They did carry off quite a bit of Equal but I think its the bait that did them in. Not bad for $1.97!! (Hot Shot brand)
Now I can fix up this crack and hopefully be done with them!
Victory #2 - we put JJ in a pullup for church today "just in case". But she stayed dry from when we left at 9 until we finally got to cell group around 12:30. Then she played her little heart out and went again when we left at 3. She's doing great!!!! :)
And because we cant go a day around here without drama......there is apparently something very dead and stinky in the wall of our hall closet. The fun never ends I tell ya! The smell is getting worse! what are we supposed to do?! we claned everything out to make sure it wasnt in a blanket or sheet but we didnt find it. yuck!!!!

Jayna was accident-free! yay! yesterday I told her that she was going to run out of pants and have none to wear if she had another accident (that as true) and she was NOT happy about that at all. I think it finally sunk in that its better to just go on the potty.
- today the lady at the end of the aisle at Costco was totally blocking me and my squirmy kids from getting by so she could get a sample of chips and salsa. the only thing in her cart? an acid blocking medicine. hmmmmmmmm.
- Im helping to teach Calebs class (pre K) at church tomorrow. I told him I was excited to meet his friends.
He said in his matter-of-fact voice, "Lily is my best friend. We played a game together. and the devil".
"we were hiding from him. under the table. but then you came to get me"
gotcha Caleb. makes perfect sense now. that kid cracks me UP!!!!
- our golden retriever Bella barked at the little girl next door's chihuahua today. She told Noah that Bella was evil which set sweet Noah off (this wasnt 5 mins after we had our "be kind and tell me if she isnt being kind" talk). Cant come between a boy and his dog. He told me he couldnt be her friend because "if she cant respect my dog, she cant respect me!". Our little 30yr old in a 6yr old's body. SO precious. I encouraged him to give her some grace because he'd feel the same way if it was the other way around and I think all is well now between them.
- Jaynas speech continues to improve. she is now easily putting 2 and 3 words together which I couldnt imagine just a month or two ago. she is copying us all the time now too - finally. we are so, so thankful. i love her even more when I hear her sweet, tiny voice "banana peese" :)
Night! some picts from today coming soon.....have to pass the time somehow when my honey is working late!
We got some Equal (thanks for the idea Fer!) and then we went to Lowes for some bait. Unfortunately they didnt carry fire ant bait traps and most said specifically they werent for fire ants (fire ants like protein not sweets typically). But I did find one that had a different ingredient than the rest so we are trying it out.
Its made with agave syrup which has a much lower glycemic index than sugar (so your body doesnt react to it like it does to sugar). Although agave is still a little controversial because its mostly fructose, Im still on the side that believes its much better than sugar. And buy a raw, organic, reputable brand here at Amazon.com
1 cup mashed bananas + 1 banana (save for later)
1/2 cup agave
2 eggs, lightly beaten (sorry Stacy!)
1/3 cup coconut oil (could use butter or canola)
1/3 cup almond milk (or cows)
2 cups Whole Wheat White flour (King Arthur brand)
1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp aluminum-free Baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
Mix wet ingredients. sprinkle in baking soda and salt and mix well. add flour and stir until mixed through. Add final banana and roughly mash for added texture. Add a little more milk if its not to a pourable consistency (I had to add more)
Put in 9x13 greased glass pan.
Bake 325 for about 30-35 mins
If you try it out let me know how it goes!

(girls are such show-offs!) ;)
We did have to change her clothes once because she didnt quite get them down enough when she sat on her little potty ;) but she did great all day! we were at the mall a few hours and she went on a "big" potty for the first time and then again at the restaurant tonight. There's no arguing or anything, she seems to love to be doing this. I am THRILLED we are done with diapers for her (besides nighttime)!!!! woooohooo!!!!!
picts of them with grandma today (her request).....they did well at first then it turned into Christmas Photo Shoot part II and we all know how that went! aaaaaaah!
and for the finale!!!!! Abram had enough by the time we finally
