Boston!

I cant believe it but we only have 4 classes left in Core before we graduate!!! What a year it has been, it has flown by!

At the end of Core the entire class goes on a missions trip to Boston, MA. They went there last year and God did amazing things. The Boston culture, from what Im told, is very different than anything we are used to in TX or CA. The walls people have up are very high and its a very spiritually dead place. Churches are dying. Many people there have never heard that Jesus loves them and died for them. While here most people claim to be christians but dont walk with God, there it is a foreign concept. So while its an intimidating place, there is a need and we are excited to go and see what God does.

The second step after this discipleship school is called Launch which is a church planting school. We plan to attend that in Fall of 2011. At the end of that 9 months the entire class goes on an international missions trip. So Core is the starting place and Boston is our "local" trip. The Lord has put Thailand on our hearts and we feel that may be what all of this preparation is for! (more on that later!)

While our church loves to see people go to other countries they still emphasize loving people right where we are, sharing Jesus with our neighbors and the people we see each day. Thats something we've been learning about and working on in Core. Its been super challenging but so good!!

I am going for half of the trip, Sun to Wed. Carmen (God bless her) will have our 4 children. Steve will go for the full 8 days. We are raising support to cover the trip, the cost for us is $1950. So far we've raised $50 LOL! But God is faithful!

We will also be sending our prayer emails. If you'd like to pray for us or contribute financially please let us know. We sent out support letters to most of our usual Christmas card list but some of you I didnt have your addresses and I also never want anyone to feel pressured. The money I know God will provide - all will be a success through prayer. So we are so thankful when people commit to pray! Especially for the kids - we want them to have a great time with "Aunt Carmen" :)

If anyone wants me to email them the official support letter just let me know!

Thanks :)

Where are you staying? And what Church are you working with (if you're working with a particular Church)?
